Six Mongolian Illegal Immigrants Arrested, Two of Whom Were Wanted

On the 7th, the Jungnang Police Station in Seoul announced that they had arrested six illegal immigrants from Mongolia on the 22nd of last month and transferred them to the immigration office.

Among them, two were confirmed to be wanted individuals on charges of assault and other offenses.

The police were dispatched to a residential area in Jungnang-gu following reports from residents stating that foreigners were causing a commotion while smoking in an alley.

Upon seeing the police arrived on scene, five of the six foreigners hurriedly hid inside a house, which raised suspicion among the police. They requested backup and conducted a stop-and-search operation.

The search revealed that all of them were illegally residing in the country beyond their permitted stay. Notably, one attempted to push a police officer and flee during the arrest process but was ultimately apprehended. This individual, along with the other wanted person, was on the run for charges including assault.

Those arrested on charges of violating immigration laws were all transferred to the immigration office.

A police official stated, "We have apprehended all six, including the individual who attempted to flee, and have transferred them to the immigration office."
