Chosun University's MT 'Sexual Harassment' Controversy
A controversy regarding sexual harassment and sexual assault among students has arisen during the freshman MT (team-building retreat) at Chosun University.
On the 16th, Chosun University stated that a complaint was raised regarding a specific MT held from the 31st of last month to the 2nd of this month, where some students allegedly forced others into 'love shots' during drinking games and made lewd remarks.
Recently, an anonymous post on the college student community 'Everytime' reported that in a specific department at Chosun University, students participated in a '5-level love shot' involving passing alcohol mouth-to-mouth, and freshmen were pressured to join in.

Student A, who wrote the post, claimed that words referring to sexual acts and genitalia, as well as profanity, were used during drinking games at the problematic MT.
Another student, B, expressed astonishment, stating, "A senior of the opposite sex was drunk and touched my thigh, it made me want to cry," and questioned, "What is this '5-level love shot' (mouth-to-mouth)?"
As the controversy over 'sexual harassment' continued to be raised among the participating students, the student council of the affected college posted an apology on Everytime.

The student council stated that the 'love shot' was originally conducted voluntarily among same-sex peers who were already familiar with each other, and they would carefully investigate further information to seek out solutions.
They expressed, "Despite conducting safety education to prevent sexual harassment on the first day of MT, we feel a deep responsibility for this incident" and conveyed their condolences to everyone who experienced discomfort during this MT.
A Chosun University official stated, "We are considering whether to conduct an ex officio investigation by the Human Rights and Ethics Center or to proceed based on reports received," and added, "If harm is confirmed, we will take disciplinary action according to university regulations."
