Firefighter Receives 80 Tickets to PSY Concert, Under Investigation for Violation of Anti-Bribery Act
The concert of singer PSY, which has become a representative summer event to beat the heat, is notoriously difficult to get tickets for.
Amid this situation, according to an exclusive report by Channel A on the 20th, a firefighter responsible for safety at this popular concert is under police investigation for receiving 80 concert tickets from a concert official. The value of these tickets is reported to be about 13 million KRW at market price.

Firefighters were deployed at the site of PSY's concert held in June for safety management.
However, it has been discovered that this firefighter received 80 concert tickets from a representative of the concert planning company three days before the event, and the police investigation is currently underway.
Each ticket, costing 160,000 KRW, has a total value of approximately 13 million KRW.
According to the Anti-Bribery Act, public officials are in violation of the law if they receive goods worth more than 3 million KRW per year, regardless of job relevance. Furthermore, there are claims that this firefighter did not officially report the receipt of the tickets.

A fire department official stated, "Whether the vendor brought the tickets or if they were placed on the table after being received, this should have been reported to the head of the agency." In response, the local government reported the firefighter to the police, and the fire agency has taken measures to suspend the firefighter's position.

The firefighter in question stated, "There is room for dispute" and added, "It is difficult to respond as it is an ongoing investigation."
The police are currently focusing on investigating the disposal path of the tickets received by this firefighter and whether there was any quid pro quo involved.
Meanwhile, the concert planning company claimed, "It was intended to invite the family of the firefighter, and we provided printed tickets for seats that were not being sold," denying any expectation of a favor in return.
PSY's agency distanced itself from the issue, stating, "This is unrelated to the agency."
