Disturbance on Flight to Jeju, Woman in Her 40s Admits Charges in Court

A woman in her 40s, who assaulted a flight attendant and caused a disturbance on a flight to Jeju, admitted to her charges in court.

A was brought to trial for cursing at another passenger and assaulting flight attendants multiple times on a flight from Gimpo to Jeju at approximately 6:30 PM on June 27.

At that time, A reportedly made incomprehensible remarks towards a female flight attendant, such as "You killed me ten years ago, get out before I kill you," while also kicking her.

Serious Disturbance Threatening Aircraft Safety

What is even more serious is that A attempted to run toward the emergency exit after assaulting the flight attendants. Flight attendants and nearby passengers worked together to restrain A. It is reported that A shouted, "Give me a parachute," while running toward the emergency exit. Such actions can seriously threaten the safety of an aircraft in flight and could lead to severe penalties under aviation security laws.

A's problematic behavior did not end with the disturbance on the aircraft.

She is also facing charges for following a man around Gimpo Airport for about six minutes, causing anxiety. Additionally, when police officers arrived to verify her identity and check for any weapons, she assaulted them, obstructing their duties.

In court, A admitted to the charges of creating a disturbance on the aircraft and assaulting the police, but denied the charge of following the man at the airport.

The court confirmed that A has also been indicted for separate charges of theft of lost property and combined the cases, with the next hearing scheduled for September 23.
