Gangnam Station Medical Student Murder Case Victim's Family Sues Perpetrator for Body Destruction
The father of the victim in the Gangnam Station medical student murder case has submitted an additional lawsuit against the perpetrator for body destruction.
The victim's family is continuing its efforts to strengthen legal punishment against the perpetrator, Choi (26), involved in this shocking incident that occurred last year.

On the morning of the 20th, the victim's father, Mr. A, held a press conference in front of the Seocho Police Station in Seoul, emphasizing that "harsh punishment should be imposed for the brutal act of body destruction."
According to the family, Choi stabbed the victim, his girlfriend, multiple times in the carotid artery with a weapon on May 6th last year at around 4:50 PM on the rooftop of a building near Gangnam Station in Seocho-gu, Seoul. The key point of the body destruction charge is that after the murder, he changed his outer clothing and attacked the victim's neck and face again.

Shocking reenactment of the scene and criticism of the court's ruling.
During the press conference, Mr. A reenacted the murder process by marking his daughter's scars on his neck and face with a marker.
In the course of this, he several times struggled to speak, appearing choked up. It is reported that a total of 28 knife wounds were discovered on the deceased victim's body.

Mr. A claimed, "Choi violated the body with a weapon solely to express his abnormal emotions, regardless of the murder," and stated, "The prosecution believed Choi's false testimony and did not even indict him on the body destruction charge."
He also strongly criticized the court's recent decision on the 13th to sentence Choi to 30 years in prison, stating, "It is far from common sense and seems to show little regard for the protection of citizens' lives and safety," labeling it as "a sloppy and erroneous judgment."
Meanwhile, Choi, who was a medical student at a prestigious university in Seoul, reportedly scored full marks on the college entrance examination, which gave society a huge shock at the time of the incident.
