Far-right YouTuber Shin Hye-sik: “The President’s Office is Behind the Riot… Please Grant Me Immunity”

Controversy Over Court Riot Backing, Shocking Claims by Shin Hye-sik

Shin Hye-sik, the head of Shinui Hansu and once known as a "pro-Yoon YouTuber," has pointed fingers at the presidential office and Rep. Yoon Sang-hyun as being behind the court riot, causing a stir.

Shin requested to be recognized as a whistleblower, but the police drew the line, stating that his status as a suspect remains unchanged.

On January 18, during the detention hearing for former President Yoon Suk-yeol, Pastor Jeon Kwang-hoon of Sarang Jeil Church publicly made statements inciting a riot towards the court.

At that time, Pastor Jeon stated, "Please display the address of the Seoul Western District Court. We need to move quickly over there."

On the same day, Shin Hye-sik, known as a conservative YouTuber and an associate of Pastor Jeon, expressed his distrust in the judicial system, saying, "Honestly, I cannot trust the current court. I absolutely cannot trust it. If we trust them, we could get stabbed in the back again."

Shocking Backing Claims and Release of Recorded Conversations

However, recently, Shin Hye-sik changed his stance, claiming that the true behind-the-scenes forces of the court riot are the presidential office and the defense team for former President Yoon. Shin revealed that just after the first attempt to execute the arrest warrant for former President Yoon failed, he was requested by an admin official at the presidential office to mobilize supporters and gather people, sharing relevant conversation details.

In a phone call on January 14, Shin allegedly stated, "Are you telling me to go back and forth… Or are you trying to provoke me? Are you trying to make me your flunky?"

Furthermore, he asserted that after he refused this request, the National Lawyers Group and members of the People Power Party incited the riot.

He specified, "A person named Bae Ui-cheol said he is 'the president's spokesperson and that the president is watching this scene' and incited people. Yoon Sang-hyun said, 'All the kids will be released and will be let off.'"

In response, Shin Hye-sik reported this information to the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission and requested protection and immunity as a whistleblower. However, the police stated that Shin's status as a suspect in relation to the Western District Court riot remains unchanged, indicating that public interest reports are a separate matter.

Nevertheless, the police mentioned, "We will conduct investigations while comprehensively examining various situations," leaving the possibility of expanding the investigation into allegations of civilian mobilization involving the presidential office at that time open.
