“Extraordinary Heatwave: Korea Post Implements Exceptional Measures ‘Delivery Delays in Some Areas… Request for Customer Understanding’”

Potential Delays in Mail Delivery Due to Heatwave

As a nationwide heatwave continues, the Korea Post (Korea Post) has announced that mail delivery may be delayed in certain areas.

On the 9th, Korea Post stated that due to the ongoing nationwide heatwave, they recommend postal workers and parcel delivery personnel take breaks during the daytime for their health and safety, and that mail delivery may be delayed.

In particular, delays in delivery are expected during the daytime hours (from noon to 4 PM), when self-diagnosis of heat-related illnesses and the utilization of rest periods are highly encouraged.

If the heatwave persists, there may also be a suspension of mail delivery services, in which case Korea Post plans to prioritize the delivery of urgent and time-sensitive mail.

Customer Notification Measures in Case of Delivery Delays

Korea Post has announced that in the event of delivery delays, the respective postal offices will quickly inform customers via text messages (SMS) and other means.

Additionally, customers can check the transportation and delivery status of registered mail and parcels in real time through the Korea Post website, the online postal office, and the postal mobile app.
