A high school student residing in Seoul, who posted a threatening message online about planting explosives at the old Andong Station Square in Gyeongbuk, has been arrested by the police. This incident occurred at a large-scale filming location, causing anxiety among many citizens.

According to the police and relevant authorities, at around 7:37 AM on the 15th, a threatening comment stating, "I will blow up the old Andong Station Square," was posted in the chat of a YouTube live broadcast.

After receiving reports from viewers, the police immediately launched an investigation.

Thanks to a swift tracking operation, the police successfully arrested the male high school student living in Seoul who wrote the comment. This student is expected to be transferred to the Andong Police Station, and the police plan to continue their investigation into the exact motive and circumstances of the crime.

Search Completed, No Actual Explosives Found

The police acted quickly after the threatening message was posted and completed their search around the old Andong Station Square by around 10:20 AM on the 15th.

Fortunately, no actual explosives were found at the scene.

An official from the Andong Police Station stated, "We plan to investigate the student arrested in Seoul after receiving him," adding, "As this is an ongoing investigation, we cannot disclose specific details."

Notably, on that day, filming for KBS TV's popular program "Documentary 3 Days" was in progress near the old Andong Station Square, with approximately 600 citizens and broadcast staff present.

It was reported that the explosive-related comment was posted during a live broadcast of this filming, prompting viewers to notify the police.

This incident illustrates how false threats made online can cause real anxiety and confusion in public places, and the police are expected to work on measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
