Park Ji-won urges to disclose the truth about Han Duck-soo's wife as a 'shaman expert,' asking to "sue me instead."

Park Ji-won, the co-chairman of the Democratic Party's election campaign committee, drew attention with his statement that he would rather be sued after claiming that the spouse of Han Duck-soo, an independent presidential candidate, is a 'shaman expert.'

On the 7th, during a central election campaign meeting held at the Democratic Party office in Yeouido, Seoul, Park mentioned Han Duck-soo's remarks at the Kwanhun Debate held the previous day (6th), where the candidate stated, "I considered suing Park Ji-won regarding the allegations about my wife’s shaman activities but refrained because he once served as the chief of the presidential secretary’s office. That is a blatant lie."

He continued, "It's not a blatant lie, but rather a pure truth; it is Han Duck-soo who is telling a blatant lie."

Earlier, on the 15th of last month, Park stirred controversy by claiming, "Both Mrs. Kim Geon-hee and Han Duck-soo's wife have reached a considerable level in shamanism and are individuals with strong political ambitions; in terms of shamanism, the wife of the acting president is on par with Kim Geon-hee's mother."

Seemingly aware of this, Han Duck-soo mentioned during the Kwanhun Debate the previous day (6th), "What that person (Representative Park) said is a completely blatant lie," and dismissed the allegations by saying, "My spouse’s understanding of fortune-telling is just like looking at today’s fortune and fortune-telling through the year's traditional calendar."

He also stated, "Representative Park even claimed that my wife opened a fortune-telling shop, prompting me to consider reporting him; however, since he is a member of the National Assembly and was a secretary I worked with, I held back," adding, "I hope you retract your statement."

In response, Park Ji-won rebuffed by suggesting, "Given that he won't sue me due to our past connection during the Kim Dae-jung administration, I urge him to file a lawsuit to reveal the truth."

In particular, he emphasized the controversy surrounding Han's wife’s involvement in shamanism by referencing her past media interview where she said, "Throughout my life, I have had many concerns, and I learned fortune-telling and physiognomy; despite being a painter, I can’t draw portraits because of the physiognomy weighing on me."

He raised his voice, stating, "Although I have known Han for 20 years, our time together in the Blue House has come to an end. Sincerely suing me to reveal the truth is the way to prevent the emergence of a 'second shaman republic of Yoon Geon-hee (Yoon Suk-yeol and Kim Geon-hee).'"
