<Here is Jin's Q&A>
Q. Thoughts on releasing your first solo album 'Happy'.
First of all, it's meaningful to release a solo album under my name, and I hope that the fans will like it. I hope everyone who listens to this album becomes happy. This album reflects a lot of my opinions, so I would be happy if people say, "The songs are good," or "I want to hear it again." (laughs)
Q. Highlights of ‘Happy’.
This album is based on the band sound that I like. The band sound is especially thrilling when heard at performances, so I recommend listening while imagining what it would be like to hear these songs at a concert.
Q. Your first impression of the title track 'Running Wild'.
It felt like nostalgia. I thought it would be nice for the listeners to feel comfortable and familiar, which is why I chose 'Running Wild' as the title track.
Q. Behind-the-scenes of working with Gary Barlow of the legendary UK pop band Take That as a producer.
I made many pronunciation corrections during recordings. It was a bit confusing due to the differences between American and British pronunciations, but I tried my best to execute the correct pronunciation with multiple recordings. Of course, part of it was due to my not-so-perfect pronunciation. (laughs)
Q. Considerations when making 'I’ll Be There', a somewhat unfamiliar rockabilly genre in Korea.
Because it was a song I made thinking about my performance from the beginning, there weren't significant difficulties. However, I had to make 'One Two Three Four' exciting in the lyrics, which took several takes to get right.
Q. Behind the lyrics of the fan song 'To Longing'.
I jotted down some feelings after becoming a trainee. It’s an honest record of emotions like ‘fans are waiting, I have to sing, I have to perform’. Based on that, I reflected on my emotions from back then and expressed through the lyrics my eagerness to return to the fans as soon as possible. I hope these feelings reach the fans.
Q. What makes Jin 'Happy' at the moment.
Recently, I've been involved in a variety of activities. Seeing the fans being happy and enjoying those activities made me happy too. It made me think, ‘This is why I work’.
Q. A message to ARMYs worldwide.
First of all, thank you to all the ARMYs who have waited for the album. It seems like this album 'Happy' could come out because of all of you. Our ARMYs, I'll make sure to appear more often for my and the other members’ portion, so don't feel lonely! I love you all!
