The Korea Music Content Association has belatedly apologized for the leakage of member personal information due to a hacking incident.

On the 13th, the association posted an announcement titled "Apology and Status Update on Circle Chart Personal Information Leakage" on its website. This comes approximately three months after the hacking incident occurred. An unidentified hacker inserted malicious code into the association's DB server in May, stealing personal information.

The association stated, "The cyber intrusion incident involving Circle Chart has caused a lot of anxiety and inconvenience," and sincerely apologized on behalf of its employees. It added, "We are actively cooperating with government investigations and directives" and remarked, "We will check our security system and strengthen security and monitoring."

The association also disclosed specific details about the damage caused. A total of 65,394 pieces of personal information were leaked, including members' names, IDs, passwords, and emails.

It was also revealed that sensitive personal information was compromised, with the resident registration numbers and mobile phone numbers of 3,817 members exposed externally.

Meanwhile, the association has stated its intention to prevent the recurrence of such incidents by destroying all existing personal information and changing the operational methods of Circle Chart.
