
A netizen who wrote malicious comments about aespa has been found guilty.
SM Entertainment shared the legal response progress regarding malicious posts on social media on the 5th. They explained, "This pertains to deepfake, photo and video manipulation, as well as defamation, insults, and sexual harassment."
The agency conducted its own monitoring and collected reports from fans. They gathered evidence on malicious posts against aespa and filed a lawsuit on charges of insult, defamation, and distribution of falsified video material.
Many of the defendants were identified, and investigations are ongoing. Some received final guilty verdicts, including sentences of three years in prison with five years of probation and fines. The agency continues to collect evidence.
Meanwhile, aespa will make a comeback with 'Dirty Work' on the 27th.
