‘Escape’ Starts at No. 1 at the Box Office…Blocked ‘Inside Out 2’

The movie 'Escape' (Director: Lee Jong-pil) has had a promising start. It reached number one at the box office on its opening day.

According to the integrated computer network for movie tickets by the Korean Film Council, 'Escape' attracted 112,663 viewers on its first day (the 4th). The cumulative audience count is 126,566.

It started at number one at the box office. Previously, the animation 'Inside Out 2' (Director: Kelsey Mann) had maintained the top position for 20 consecutive days. 'Escape' has overtaken it.

It is expected to continue its box office success. As of 8:30 am on the 4th, the real-time reservation rate for 'Escape' is 21.7%. It has already sold 76,000 tickets.

'Escape' is a movie centered on a North Korean soldier named Kyunam (played by Lee Je-hoon). It tells the story of Kyunam risking his life to escape while being pursued by North Korean Security Officer Hyunsang (played by Koo Kyo-hwan).

The film features impressive action scenes from Lee Je-hoon and Koo Kyo-hwan. Lee Je-hoon vividly portrays Kyunam's life and his perilous escape.

Koo Kyo-hwan also leaves a strong impression with his new acting transformation. He plays North Korean Security Officer Hyunsang, pursuing Kyunam with relentless determination. The acting ensemble between Lee Je-hoon and Koo Kyo-hwan is a highlight.

Meanwhile, 'Inside Out 2' took the second spot at the box office on the same day. On the 3rd, it drew 105,713 viewers. The total audience is 5,910,131.
