“Escape,” Continued Praise Relay… “Runs Without Wasting a Second”

“94 minutes filled with exhilarating tension” (Go Ah-sung)

The movie ‘Runaway’ (directed by Lee Jong-pil) released a special review poster on the 9th. Both male and female actors, as well as the director, participated in it. They shared their reviews after watching ‘Runaway’.

It received positive reviews. Actor Son Seok-gu said, “I was fascinated by a different version of Lee Je-hoon.” He described Koo Kyo-hwan as ‘sexy.’

Byun Yo-han praised, “The speed of the film that unfolds over 94 minutes is explosive.” Moon Sang-min also expressed admiration, saying, “Yanghwa Bridge shook the hearts of youth.”

The chase action was highly anticipated. Ahn Jae-hong commented, “It’s a refreshing film that chases and is chased until the end. It came at me like a heatwave.”

Lee Jae-wook and Shin Hyun-bin respectively assessed it as “a clean and tension-filled work without any superfluities” and “the film races, and my heart runs wild.”

Namkoong Min also shared, “There were many scenes where Lee Je-hoon seemed to have suffered both mentally and physically, making it an intense and interesting watch.”

Kang Ki-young wrote, “It felt as if I was escaping along with them, with tension and immersion.” Seo Hyun praised, “It densely captures the fate of both the chaser and the chased.”

Directors also had positive reactions. Director Kim Sung-soo of ‘Spring of Seoul’ complimented, “The intense clash of two youths is very powerful.”

Director Lee Hae-young applauded, “Lee Jong-pil’s skill in presenting ‘humans’ within the racing genre finally shines. It’s refreshing. It’s profound.”

Director Han Joon-hee likewise remarked, “The grand escape of Lee Je-hoon and Koo Kyo-hwan, crossing genres at full throttle, leaves the actors’ portraits lingering even after leaving the theater.”

Director Ahn Tae-jin appreciated the genre’s thrills created by the film’s fast tempo, saying, “It runs to the end at a dizzying speed without wasting a single second.”

Director Kim Se-hwi added, “While staying true to the genre, it delicately captures the emotional lines of the characters. A concise and entertaining story.”

Meanwhile, ‘Runaway’ is a life-threatening chase between North Korean soldier Kyunam (played by Lee Je-hoon), escaping for tomorrow, and Hyun-sang (played by Koo Kyo-hwan), chasing to protect today.
