Driving school student crashes alone… collides with workers mowing the lawn while driving

Accident Occurs During Unlicensed Driving at Driving Academy

A 30-year-old student at a driving academy, who was driving alone without a license and without an instructor, seriously injured a 70-year-old worker who was mowing grass with his vehicle.

In response, the Chungnam Yesan Police have begun investigations into the student, the academy director, and the instructor.

On the 21st, the Chungnam Yesan Police reported that they have charged the driving academy student A (in his 30s), the academy director, and the instructor with bodily injury under the Special Act on Traffic Accident Handling and negligence in the course of their duties.

They are currently undergoing detailed investigations by the police.

The accident occurred around 9:45 AM at a driving academy located in Yesan County. A was driving alone in a vehicle without a license for practice and struck worker B (in his 70s) who was mowing grass near the practice road.

Negligence in Safety Management and Accident Victim Conditions

According to police investigations, the academy director and instructor failed to comply with safety regulations, as they should have had an instructor accompanying the unlicensed A during driving to provide appropriate management and guidance.

As a result of the accident, B sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital. Although B has regained consciousness, it has been reported that he is still in critical condition.

This incident, caused by negligence in safety management at the driving academy, evokes more sorrow as it resulted in innocent victims.

A reportedly told police, "I saw B while driving but was flustered and couldn't stop the car." This suggests that both lack of driving skill and inadequate emergency response contributed to the accident.

A representative of the Chungnam Yesan Police stated, "We plan to investigate the reasons why A drove alone, targeting both A and the academy staff."
