SK Telecom (hereafter SKT) has introduced a generous "Thank You Package" as an apology for the inconvenience caused to customers affected by a cyber breach.

With discount benefits of up to 60% at popular dining brands such as Domino's Pizza, Vips, and Tous Les Jours, customers waiting for compensation, as well as "mukbang enthusiasts," are excited.

On the 3rd, SKT announced the confirmation of the "Customer Thank You Package" after consultations with the Customer Trust Committee and approval from its board of directors. This package is targeted at approximately 24 million SKT customers and budget phone customers using the SKT network as of midnight on July 15.

First, SKT will offer a 50% discount on communication fees for all customers for the month of August. The 50% discount will be automatically applied to monthly payments, messaging, voice, and data call fees for August, without any separate application procedure, and can be confirmed on the September bill.

Budget phone customers are expected to receive the same benefits after discussions with the respective providers.

An additional 50GB provided monthly until the end of the year… optional for teenagers

The data support is also remarkable. Starting in August, SKT will provide an additional 50GB of data to all customers every month until the end of the year.

This will be automatically applied without a separate application; however, some children's and teenagers' plans will require the consent of their legal guardians. Families with children under 19 can similarly choose to opt in.

This consideration likely stems from concerns that students might become overly absorbed in their phones due to the surplus of data. It reflects the depth of thought put into this compensation package.

Domino's and Tous Les Jours offer discounts of up to 60%… Mukbang fans rejoice

The most talked-about part is the "Food Relay Discount." Through T Membership, starting in August, SKT will select three partner companies each month to hold a relay discount event every 10 days.

Domino's Pizza will offer a discount of up to 60%. This is an astonishing discount that goes beyond the typical 1+1 offers. The option to freeze the pizza for later consumption has already prompted reactions like "I will rush to buy it."

Tous Les Jours and Paris Baguette have also significantly increased their maximum discount to 50%. Popular brands such as Vips, Ediya Coffee, and Dunkin' are also included. Discount benefits will be equally applicable to new subscribers until the end of the year.

This program is expected to provide tangible benefits not only for customer satisfaction but also for increasing sales for partner companies, thus assisting small businesses and self-employed individuals. It appears to be a ray of hope for those suffering from high prices.

Restoration of benefits for customers who cancel and rejoin within six months

Additionally, SKT announced that customers who canceled their service after the recent breach will have their membership status, including years of service and membership level, restored without additional procedures if they rejoin within six months.

Even customers with no plans to rejoin can apply for customer information preservation consent through the T World app or website within six months from the cancellation date, allowing for the restoration of their previous subscription details if they rejoin within three years from the consent date.

This effectively guarantees a return for three years. Customers who have already transferred their numbers to other companies will also have an easy path back.

Yoo Young-sang, CEO of SK Telecom, expressed, "I thank the customers who have trusted and waited for us, and I deeply apologize again for this incident." He added, "This program was prepared as a promise to become a more secure company."
