Fire at COEX in Seoul, 1200 Evacuated
The fire that broke out at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, was completely extinguished after two hours on the morning of the 25th.
Around 11:07 AM, the fire started from the kitchen hood on the second floor of a restaurant in COEX, and was first reported at 11:42 AM. It was fully extinguished by 1:13 PM. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

The fire department arrived at the scene within three minutes of receiving the report and promptly began firefighting efforts.
The large flames were controlled within about 30 minutes at 11:42 AM, and following inspections of the internal ducts and smoke removal operations, the fire was completely extinguished by around 1:13 PM.
Approximately 20 fire vehicles, including pump trucks, tankers, and rescue vehicles, along with over 70 personnel were dispatched to combat the fire.

Thick black smoke was seen billowing from the COEX building, causing employees and citizens to evacuate in large numbers.
According to the fire department, about 1200 people evacuated from the entire COEX building. Currently, entry to COEX is allowed, but access to the second-floor restaurant area where the fire occurred remains restricted.
The fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire and the extent of property damage.
