
Director Park Chan-wook heads to Venice. Actors Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, and Yum Hye-ran will also walk the red carpet together. Distributor CJ ENM announced on the 20th, "The 'Can't Help It' team, including director Park Chan-wook, Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, and Yum Hye-ran, will attend the 82nd Venice International Film Festival."
The team for 'Can't Help It' will present their film for the first time through its world premiere. The screening is scheduled for 4:45 AM (Korea time) on the 30th. They will also walk the red carpet before the screening.
A representative stated, "The main cast of 'Can't Help It' will engage in various activities, including official events of the film festival," adding that they will spend meaningful time with global audiences.
This is Director Park Chan-wook's third invitation to the Venice International Film Festival. 'Three, Monster' (2004) was featured in the Midnight Express section, and 'Lady Vengeance' (2005) competed in the feature film category.
He has received trophies as well. 'Lady Vengeance' won the Cinema of The Future Award, the Young Lion Award, and the Best Innovated Film Award.
This year, he is challenging for the Golden Lion Award, aiming for the top prize for the first time in 13 years since director Kim Ki-duk's 'Pietà' (2012). 'Pietà' was the first Korean film ever to win the Golden Lion.
Meanwhile, 'Can't Help It' is a crime thriller about a jobless head of a family who enters the battle for reemployment. It is set to be released next month.
