Director Bong Joon-ho is finally unveiling his new film 'Mickey 17'. It will first be released in Korea prior to its global release.
On the 10th, the team behind 'Mickey 17' confirmed the Korean release date. It will premiere worldwide on the 27th of next month, keeping the promise to introduce the film to Korean audiences first.
The global release is set for March 7th. 'Mickey 17' has changed its release date several times. It was initially scheduled to release in March last year, but the date was moved due to the impact of the Writers Guild of America strike, among other reasons.
Actor Robert Pattinson (as Mickey) will be visiting Korea for the first time on the 20th. Despite his busy schedule due to filming his next project, it is known that his decision reflects his desire to visit Director Bong's homeland.
Director Bong Joon-ho and Robert Pattinson will meet with Korean press after the footage screening of 'Mickey 17', and they are also scheduled to have a fan meet-and-greet including stage greetings.
'Mickey 17' is a film about 'Mickey', an expendable who gets reprinted every time he dies. The story unfolds as 'Mickey 18' is printed while Mickey is facing his 17th death crisis.
Robert Pattinson plays Mickey, undertaking the challenging job of dying and being reprinted. He takes on a dual role to portray two contrasting Mickeys.
