'The Boyz Exclusion' Joo Haknyeon, Controversy Over 'Authenticity' of Apology Statement
Joo Haknyeon, who was expelled from the group 'The Boyz' due to allegations of prostitution, has recently become embroiled in controversy regarding whether his apology statement was 'ghostwritten.'
On the 19th, Joo Haknyeon posted a handwritten apology on his Instagram story, stating, "I sincerely apologize to the fans and everyone who were surprised by news about me, and for causing distress due to this unfortunate matter."
In the apology, he admitted, "It is true that I was at a drinking gathering with acquaintances on the early morning of May 30," while emphasizing, "I have never engaged in prostitution or any illegal activities mentioned in articles or rumors."

He continued, "I am deeply reflecting on my actions and want to sincerely apologize to those who were surprised."
The contentious point was the awkward line break in Joo Haknyeon's handwritten note. He wrote, "I am sorry for causing (line break) distress due to this unfortunate matter," splitting the word 'distress' awkwardly.
This led many netizens to raise suspicions, questioning, "Did he just copy and paste an apology sent to him via KakaoTalk?" implying that Joo Haknyeon's apology lacked authenticity and was 'ghostwritten.'

Meanwhile, Joo Haknyeon, who gained public recognition through Mnet's 'Produce 101 Season 2' aired in 2017, had been active as a sub-vocalist in The Boyz but suddenly announced a halt to his activities on the 16th.
Following this, images of him engaging in a private drinking session and physical contact with famous Japanese AV actress Asuka Kirara (明日花キララ, 36) emerged through Japanese media, further fueling suspicions of 'prostitution' with the actress.
In response, The Boyz's management company, One Hundred, stated, "We take the seriousness of this matter very seriously" and announced Joo Haknyeon's departure from the group and the termination of his exclusive contract.
Currently, Joo Haknyeon is completely denying the allegations of 'prostitution.'
