The Japanese animated film "Demon Slayer" (directed by Haruo Sotozaki) has interrupted the dominance of "Zombie Daughter" (directed by Gil-kang Sung).

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing system, "Demon Slayer: Mugen Train" (hereafter referred to as "Demon Slayer") recorded the highest booking rate of 78.3% as of the 22nd. The box office success is anticipated for the opening weekend, with advance ticket sales reaching 827,631. This number places it second in all-time advance ticket sales for animated films, trailing only "Frozen 2."

The event "Lim Young-woong I'm Here 2 Listening Session" took the second position with a booking rate of 4.7%. Despite being an album listening event held only in select CGV theaters, it achieved remarkable success.

"Zombie Daughter" ranked third with a booking rate of 4.1%. This film had maintained the number one spot at the box office for 23 consecutive days after its release last month but has seen its momentum falter due to the new competition.

Meanwhile, "Demon Slayer" is the first installment in a three-part film series based on the manga of the same name.
