The Netflix movie 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' (directed by Mega Kang and Chris Applehans) has taken the global stage by storm. Not only the film itself but also its original soundtrack (OST) has become a hit.
On the 30th (Korean time), Billboard released a forecast article stating that the 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' OST debuted at number 8 on the main album chart 'Billboard 200' (as of July 5). This is the highest ranking for a movie OST released this year. The 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' OST has become the first soundtrack to enter the Top 10 in 2025.
The 'Billboard 200' is one of Billboard's main charts, ranking based on physical album sales, streaming equivalent album (SEA) figures, and track equivalent album (TEA) figures.
The album recorded the equivalent of 31,000 album units, with 3,000 of those being physical album sales. The SEA amounted to 27,000, while the TEA was 1,000.
It contains a total of 12 tracks, including 'Take Down' and 'Golden' by the girl group 'HUNTRIX' and 'Soda Pop' by the boy group 'Lion Boys.'
Meanwhile, 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' is an animation centered around K-pop idols. It tells the story of a girl group and exorcists who take on a grim reaper boy group.
