Body of unidentified person found at Gui Reservoir in Wanju, Jeollabuk-do

A body, difficult to identify, has been discovered at Gui Reservoir in Gui-myeon, Wanju, Jeollabuk-do, and the police are currently investigating.

According to Wanju Police Station on the 12th, a report was received at 9:24 AM the previous day stating that "there seems to be a body."

Police and firefighting authorities discovered one body at the scene. The body, presumed to be male, was reportedly in a highly decomposed state.

A police official stated, "We have not found any evidence of homicide or criminal activity so far, and we will investigate the identity of the body and the cause of death."

The police are concentrating their investigative efforts on this case, conducting DNA analysis and cross-referencing with lists of missing persons to identify the deceased.

Additionally, they are trying to understand the circumstances of the incident through CCTV footage and witness statements from the surrounding area.
