Marvel's Jesus has arrived. The movie 'Deadpool and Wolverine' (directed by Shawn Levy) started off at number one at the box office.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for movie tickets, 'Deadpool and Wolverine' attracted 231,135 viewers on its opening day, the 24th. This is more than three times the audience of the second place film.

It recorded the highest opening score among R-rated movies this year. It also surpassed 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3' (160,000 viewers), which was a global hit last year.

The second place was taken by 'Despicable Me 4' (directed by Chris Renaud), which was also released on the same day. It had 73,346 viewers nationwide, receiving a disappointing result despite a large-scale paid preview.

'Escape' (directed by Lee Jong-pil) came in third. It drew 35,726 viewers to the theaters. Although it dropped two spots, it maintained its honor as a Korean film by surpassing a cumulative audience of 2.04 million.

Besides that, 'Detective Conan: The Pentagram of a Million Dollars' (directed by Chika Nagaoka) ranked fourth. 'Inside Out 2' (directed by Kelsey Mann) ranked fifth at the box office.

Meanwhile, 'Deadpool and Wolverine' is the third installment in the 'Deadpool' series. The story revolves around Deadpool, who has retired from his superhero life, seeking out Wolverine in the face of a huge crisis.
