Stalking murderer Yoon Jeong-woo, Daegu police decide to disclose personal information
On the 19th, the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency disclosed the personal information of Yoon Jeong-woo (48), who was arrested on suspicion of murdering a stalking victim. The police made the decision to disclose his information during a meeting of the Personal Information Disclosure Review Committee, determining that the brutality of the crime and the seriousness of the victim's case warranted public disclosure.
Brutality of the crime and seriousness of the victim's case
The decision to disclose personal information stems from enough evidence of the crime and the necessity for the public good, such as crime prevention.

Yoon's name, age, and facial photograph will be made public for 30 days through the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency's website.
Application of revenge murder charges, higher sentencing possibility
Initially, the police had charged Yoon with murder, but they changed the charges to revenge murder under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes, acknowledging the retaliatory nature linked to the stalking incident that occurred last April.
Revenge murder can carry a heavier sentence than ordinary murder, increasing the likelihood that Yoon will face more severe punishment.
Having worked as a construction daily worker, Yoon is accused of climbing the external gas pipe of an apartment in Dalseo-gu, Daegu, around 3:30 AM on the 10th and breaking into the home of his former partner B (in her 50s) located on the sixth floor through a window. He is alleged to have killed B with a weapon.
