“Cooking, But with Baek Jong-won”… ‘Black and White Chef’ Ranks No. 1 Globally

The Netflix variety show "Black and White Chef: Cooking Class War" (hereinafter referred to as "Black and White Chef") has taken the world by storm.

"Black and White Chef" was released on the 17th. According to Netflix's Top 10 rankings, the show reached No. 1 in the non-English TV series category from the 16th to the 22nd.

It recorded 3.8 million views (calculated by dividing the total watch time by the runtime) within six days of its release. It overtook "Mom's Friend's Son," which had been at the top of the charts for six weeks.

It ranked in the Top 10 lists of 18 countries. It claimed the No. 1 spot in South Korea, Hong Kong, and Singapore. It is also gaining popularity in Bahrain, Oman, and Thailand.

"Black and White Chef" is Netflix's first cooking survival show. It features amateur "black spoon" chefs competing against "white spoon" star chefs.

Judges include Baek Jong-won, CEO of Theborn Korea, and Ahn Sung-jae, chef of Mosu Seoul. Choi Hyun-seok, Edward Lee, and Yeo Kyung-rae compete against their juniors.

Meanwhile, "Black and White Chef" will release episodes 8–10 on the 1st of next month. Episodes 11–12 will follow on October 8th.
