“Coffee machine for only 5,140 won”… Received the product purchased at an online bargain, but only got ‘one photo’

5,140 Won Coffee Machine, Turns Out to be a 'Photo of a Coffee Machine'

Recently, a shocking story has gained attention after a buyer purchased a coffee machine advertised for 'only 5,140 Won' on an e-commerce site, only to receive 'one photo' instead.

On the 22nd, 'JTBC Incident Report' revealed the story of A, who experienced this 'online product purchase' fraud.

A purchased a coffee machine priced at 5,140 Won on an e-commerce site on the 8th. Including international shipping fees, the total payment was 13,500 Won.

Despite feeling anxious due to the absence of any reviews, A trusted the site because it frequently held discount events and the same product had been listed for several days.

However, a week later, upon the delivery of the package and its unboxing, A was hit by sheer absurdity. The delivery box contained not a coffee machine, but just a single photo printed with an image of a coffee machine.

A explained, "Nowhere in the product description on the site did it mention that a photo would be sent."

Ultimately, A contacted the e-commerce site, and they replied that he would have to lodge a formal complaint against the seller, as refunds would be difficult.

When A stated, "I will make this public," only then did they proceed with the refund.

A mentioned, "Currently, the seller on the site has disappeared, but they are selling in a similar manner under a different seller's name."

Regarding the issue of victims, A asserted that "It's not just the seller's fault; the site should also respond promptly."
