A man in his 50s has been revealed to have proposed a romantic relationship to a minor while disguising his age, after being indicted on charges of sexually assaulting the minor several times via an online chat app.

On the 11th, the prosecution disclosed specific allegations against a 55-year-old public official from Chungju, who was indicted on charges of violation of the Act on the Protection of Children and Youth against Sexual Violence, during the first trial held at the Incheon District Court, Bucheon Branch, presided over by Judge Yeo Hyun-joo.

On this day, the prosecution stated, "In February, while conversing with the victim, A deceived her about his age and made her believe that if they officially dated, they could live together, subsequently engaging in sexual relations with her." The prosecution also added, "A assaulted the victim a total of nine times and subjected her to sexual abuse."

Details of the Crime Discovery Process and Additional Assault Charges

Regarding the process of uncovering his crimes, the prosecution remarked, "On March 3, during the act, he was caught by the victim's mother while escaping and, when apprehended, he pushed her torso and injured her."

On the same day, A appeared in court wearing a light green prison uniform and responded to the judge's questions in a calm voice, stating his occupation as 'public official' when asked.

A's lawyer stated, "I am reviewing the records and organizing my position," but did not specify whether A acknowledged the charges on that day.

Currently, A is facing charges of sexually assaulting a minor, referred to as B, at an apartment in Wonmi-gu, Bucheon, during February and March.

Investigations revealed that A had sexually assaulted and abused B a total of nine times after getting to know her through a chat app. Notably, A had established a relationship of closeness and trust with B, to the extent that she referred to him as 'father' before committing the offenses.

Meanwhile, the city of Chungju immediately took action to suspend A from his position and remove him from his duties after being notified by the police to initiate an investigation.
