"Seeing the cheering sticks waved by many young friends, I felt very sorry as a member of the older generation."

Actor Choi Min-sik expressed his stance on the martial law situation.

Choi Min-sik attended the 25th Busan Film Critics Association Awards held on the 13th at the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae District, Busan. He won the Best Actor Award for the movie 'Excavation.'

He began by saying, "I truly wish for a happy weekend tomorrow for everyone." The vote on President Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment motion is scheduled for tomorrow (14th), as mentioned by Choi Min-sik.

Representing the older generation, he apologized concerning the turbulent political situation. He said, "Even amidst this despair and suffering thrown to the ground, I felt sorry seeing the cheering sticks."

He bowed his head over the re-emergence of the martial law situation, saying, "I've experienced it once or twice in my lifetime, and I never thought I'd experience it again after sixty."

He added, "Young friends are waving cheering sticks on the cold asphalt, smiling outwardly like it's a concert (assembly), but I felt very sorry."

Choi Min-sik conveyed his apologies to the participants, saying, "I want to take this opportunity to sincerely say sorry to the participants. I'm sorry," finishing his comments with "Thank you."

The National Assembly is scheduled to hold a plenary session at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 14th. A vote will be conducted on the second impeachment motion initiated by opposition party lawmakers, including the Democratic Party.

The first impeachment motion vote held on the 7th was rejected. Lawmakers from the People's Power Party, except for Ahn Cheol-soo, Kim Ye-ji, and Kim Sang-wook, were absent, resulting in a lack of a quorum.

The public was outraged, with criticism mounting especially towards the People's Power Party lawmakers who abstained from voting. Nationwide assemblies demanding President Yoon's impeachment occurred in response.

For President Yoon's impeachment motion to pass, more than two-thirds of the sitting lawmakers must agree. Upon approval, President Yoon's duties are immediately suspended.
