'FTISLAND' Choi Min-hwan has returned to the international stage.
On the 9th, FTISLAND held their '2025 FTISLAND Live Pulse in JAPAN' tour at the Festival Hall in Osaka, Japan. On this day, Choi Min-hwan took to the stage and played the drums.
Choi Min-hwan will resume overseas activities starting with this performance. The tour will continue at the Aichi Arts Theater on the 19th and will feature performances at the Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Hall on the 22nd and 23rd.
However, his return to domestic activities is uncertain. Lee Hong-ki hinted at Choi Min-hwan’s comeback during his fan meeting, 'Honggi B-Day Party XXX,' on the 2nd.
Lee Hong-ki stated, "We plan to operate as a duo in Korea and as a trio overseas," adding, "There are many who feel uncomfortable with the current situation in Korea, so I think we need to respect that." He further said, "As time goes by, I will keep pushing Choi Min-hwan to prepare for his return as a trio in Korea. FTISLAND really needs a drummer."
Regarding the conflict between Choi Min-hwan and Yul-hee, he commented, "If Choi Min-hwan had truly committed an unforgivable mistake, he would have taken another path," and noted, "I believe this matter can be seen from different perspectives."
Choi Min-hwan has temporarily halted his activities since October last year due to the expose of his ex-wife Yul-hee's private life, who raised allegations of Choi Min-hwan visiting adult establishments. She also mentioned issues such as unwanted touching.
Choi Min-hwan maintains that he is innocent and has not engaged in any illegal activities such as prostitution. In November last year, he was also exonerated of charges related to violations of the Prostitution Punishment Act and sexual assault allegations.
He refuted that the reasons for the divorce lie with Yul-hee, pointing out her unusual sleeping habits, frequent absences from home, and neglect of childcare. Yul-hee has not made any significant responses to these claims.
Currently, the two are continuing their disputes in family court. Yul-hee has applied for adjustments to custody, child-rearing, alimony, and property division, requesting her to be designated as the custodian and demanding 1 billion won in division.
