Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of Liberation: Actor Cha Joo-young Participates in Special Exhibition 'Light Captured in Anti-Japanese Heritage'
Actor Cha Joo-young participated in a special cultural event commemorating the 80th anniversary of Liberation.
Cha Joo-young serves as a docent for the special exhibition 'Light Captured in Anti-Japanese Heritage' alongside Professor Seo Kyung-deok from Sungshin Women's University, contributing to the awareness of the history of the anti-Japanese independence movement.

Hosted by the Cultural Heritage Administration, this special exhibition runs from October 12 to December 12 at Deoksugung Palace's Dondeokjeon. Visitors have the unique opportunity to hear explanations of the main exhibits in Cha Joo-young's voice as they tour the exhibition space.

Cha Joo-young has recorded explanations for a variety of historically significant exhibits, including An Jung-geun's calligraphy, documents related to the anti-Japanese armed forces, the Taegeukgi from JinGwanSa, the Malmooi manuscript, the Missile Record, and the Taegeukgi with Kim Gu's signature.
This docent service enhances visitor convenience, allowing them to easily access the audio by scanning QR codes located next to the exhibits with their smartphones.
A Meaningful Collaboration to Promote Anti-Japanese Independence Cultural Heritage
Professor Seo Kyung-deok, who planned the docent project for this special exhibition, stated, "Last week, we produced and released a multilingual video together with Cha Joo-young to promote cultural heritage related to the anti-Japanese independence movement both domestically and internationally."

Professor Seo also explained the purpose of this collaboration, saying, "We aimed to assist visitors in better understanding anti-Japanese history by introducing the exhibits with the familiar voice of a popular celebrity."
In response, Cha Joo-young expressed her hopes, stating, "I wish many visitors would come to the special exhibition after watching the video and take full advantage of the docent's explanations."
Meanwhile, the Cultural Heritage Administration and Professor Seo Kyung-deok plan to release another multilingual video in September to further raise awareness of anti-Japanese independence cultural heritage.
