Controversy over the 'Squatting' of Caravans at Seorak Beach in Yangyang, Gangwon Province
Caravans parked near Hujin Harbor, close to Seorak Beach in Yangyang, Gangwon Province, have been photographed, sparking controversy.
These caravans have been left unoccupied for an extended period in what is known as a prime spot with a good view of the sea.
On the 23rd, a post titled "Caravans Squatting in Prime Spots at Seorak Beach Hujin Harbor" appeared on an online community. The author, referred to as A, shared a photo taken on the afternoon of the 22nd, stating that it was captured near Hujin Harbor by Seorak Beach in Yangyang, Gangwon Province.

The photo shared by A shows white caravans parked in a row at the harbor facing the sea, positioned at regular intervals.
A pointed out, "The problem is that there were no campers in sight, only unmanned caravans that had been parked long-term," expressing dissatisfaction: "It's as if these caravans were 'squatting' in good spots, blocking access for ordinary tourists wishing to enjoy the sea."
A further criticized, "If they were conscientious regular visitors, they would have parked further back. This behavior of occupying prime spots for an extended period is nothing short of using public space as private property, or 'squatting.'"

A emphasized, "Public spaces should be shared by everyone," adding, "Selfish behavior that infringes on the rights of other visitors and causes inconvenience should be refrained from."
However, it has not been confirmed how long the problematic caravans have been parked.
Internet users who learned about the situation reacted critically, commenting, "Can't we just push them straight into the sea?" "A typhoon should just sweep them away," "Isn't there CCTV?" "Isn't the local government enforcing any regulations?", "I wish someone would just take them all," "They should charge for parking instead."
