Prime Video's original American drama "Butterfly" has been confirmed for domestic airing in the Republic of Korea.

On the 5th, tvN announced, "'Butterfly' is reaching out to viewers not only in Hollywood but also in the Republic of Korea." On the same day, a domestic poster with the word '나비' (butterfly) written in Korean was released on social media.

The drama is a spy thriller. It follows former U.S. intelligence officer David Jung (played by Daniel Dae Kim) and current agent Rebecca (played by Reyna Hardy) as they engage in a thrilling chase.

The production garnered attention from the start due to the participation of top domestic actors, including Kim Tae-hee, Park Hae-soo, Kim Ji-hoon, Sung Dong-il, and Lee Il-hwa. Notably, Park Hae-soo appears in the trailer, increasing anticipation.

This work has a special connection to Korea, as Korean-American actor Daniel Dae Kim serves as both producer and lead actor. The show's co-producer and showrunner, Steph Cha, is also Korean-American.

The backdrop of the story is set in Korea. The protagonist, David Jung, lives in Korea, isolated from the world. Consequently, filming took place in areas like Seoul and Busan.

Meanwhile, "Butterfly" is set to premiere on Prime Video on the 13th. Following that, it will be broadcast domestically on the tvN channel every Friday and Saturday at 10:40 PM starting from the 22nd.
