Haeundae Beach Bustling with Vacationers Amidst the Heat Wave
Around 1 PM on the 27th, as the temperature soared to 30.6 degrees Celsius, Busan's Haeundae Beach was packed with vacationers seeking refuge from the heat.
Many people flocked to the ocean to cool off from the midsummer heat.
Most of the beachgoers enjoying the sea were wearing tubes or life jackets for safety, letting the cool waves wash over them. Every time the high waves crashed in, the sounds of cheers from the vacationers filled the beach.

On the sandy shore, it was common to see people relaxing under umbrellas or lying down with sunglasses on, enjoying some tanning. Lifeguards were carefully watching over the beach with binoculars, ensuring the safety of the beachgoers.
"It's a relief from the heat once I get into the water."
According to News1, Kim Sang-soo (47) who visited Haeundae with his family expressed, "These days I've been so busy with work that even in the heat, I didn't feel like it was summer, but coming to Haeundae finally brings that feeling home." He also mentioned his future plans, saying, "Today we are having fun at Haeundae just for a taste, and during the upcoming vacation, I'm planning to go on a family trip to really enjoy the summer."
Kim's daughter, Kim Mi-rae (9), said with a smile, "I've been walking to school and the academy drenched in sweat every day. I wanted to stay home because it felt too hot today, but once I got into the sea, I didn’t even notice the heat."

Lee Se-jun (23), who visited Haeundae with friends, shared, "When I think of summer, I think of the sea, and when I think of the sea, I think of Busan. That's why my friends and I came to Haeundae yesterday." He added, "It was so hot earlier that I felt exhausted, but once we got into the sea, everyone's smiling couldn't stop."
Various Ways to Enjoy Vacation Around the Beach
Outside the sandy area, people could be seen taking commemorative photos with the ocean in the background or walking their dogs. There were many vacationers sitting on mats in the shade of trees and taking a break as well.
A woman in her 60s, Ms. Park, said, "Swimming is great, but it can be exhausting, and cleaning up afterward isn’t easy. Honestly, just sitting here enjoying a cold coffee while occasionally feeling the sea breeze is surprisingly pleasant," sharing her own way to enjoy summer vacation.
Meanwhile, a heat wave advisory is in effect for the eastern region of Busan where Haeundae is located.

Heat wave advisories are issued when the perceived daily high temperature is expected to last above 33 degrees Celsius for two days or more. The meteorological agency forecasted that the maximum temperature in Busan would reach 33 degrees on that day.
