This incident is centered on the alleged corruption that occurred during the Ik-san city signage maintenance project.

On the previous day, the 6th, police arrested and handed over to prosecution a city official (Level 5) identified as B, who is suspected of accepting bribes in exchange for channeling work to a specific company.

Earlier, on the 28th of last month, a large amount of cash and local love gift certificates worth tens of millions of won was discovered inside B's vehicle during a police search, causing a significant uproar in the community.

The Jeonbuk Provincial Police Agency is weighing the possibility that this case may not be limited to corruption involving a single company and a public official, but might also involve organized corruption involving multiple companies.

Consequently, the police are expanding their investigation, having conducted two rounds of seizures at the Ik-san City Hall.
