BTS Sets a New YouTube Record… ‘IDOL’ MV Reaches 1.3 Billion Views

BTS continues to have a long run, adding another 1.3 billion-view music video.

According to YouTube, BTS achieved a new milestone on the 4th with their music video reaching 1.3 billion views. The repackage album title track "IDOL" set this record at 8 AM on that day.

This is their fifth music video to reach 1.3 billion views. "IDOL" had surpassed 100 million views on YouTube just five months after its release, and accumulated over 1 billion views in 2021 amid consistent popularity.

The music video is characterized by Korean elements. The "IDOL" music video was filmed on a set that borrowed from traditional Korean styles. Traditional performances like samulnori (percussion quartet) and talchum (mask dance) added unique charm.

BTS now has a total of 39 music videos with hundreds of millions of views. "Dynamite" has 1.8 billion views and "Boy With Luv" has 1.7 billion views.

Additionally, "DNA" has surpassed 1.5 billion views. "MIC Drop" has 1.4 billion views, "FAKE LOVE" has 1.2 billion views, and both "Blood Sweat & Tears" and "Butter" each have 900 million views.
