BTS has been named on the list of 'Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century.'

On the 10th (local time), American music media outlet Billboard announced through an article on its website that BTS was ranked 19th in the 'Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century.'

Billboard stated, "We must remember the seven-member group that elevated K-pop to a global level," adding, "BTS has set high standards for hit song production in pop music over the past decade."

It continued, "They broke the barriers that once held back boy bands, K-pop, and Korean artists," and concluded, "The global sensation they created achieved Beatles-level success, becoming a new blueprint for all pop music."

BTS has set monumental records on various U.S. Billboard charts. They have reached No.1 six times each on the main song chart 'Hot 100' and the main album chart 'Billboard 200.'

Notably, their single 'Butter,' released in 2021, maintained the No.1 spot on the 'Hot 100' for 10 weeks. They have also been nominated for the 'Grammy Awards,' the most prestigious popular music awards in the U.S., five times.

What is the secret to BTS's success? Billboard cited the members' flexible and harmonious musical abilities, outstanding performance, and their fandom 'ARMY.'

Billboard analyzed, "One of the best qualities that makes BTS stand out as pop stars is the members' ability to transform and blend genres."

They also examined the individual voices of BTS members, highlighting V's laid-back vocals, Jimin's sweet and sensual voice, and Jin's flawless belting.

They paid attention to Jungkook's natural falsetto and the contributions of Suga, RM, and J-Hope in forming BTS's sound. "Each has a unique style and voice, yet they all blend well together," Billboard explained.

Their exceptional performance skills were also praised. "BTS showcases choreography that differentiates them from other groups, traversing various genres from hip-hop dance to ballet," it stated.

Regarding 'ARMY,' Billboard noted, "They have grown together with the seven members at every stage, strengthening solidarity across diverse communities, transcending age, race, and religion."

Billboard described BTS's achievements as 'unparalleled.' "No other group has achieved what BTS has accomplished in this century. They have truly paved a new path," it stated.

Meanwhile, since last month, Billboard has been revealing the list of the 25 most important and influential pop stars in the U.S. in the 21st century, two names each week.
