BTS Earns Japan’s ‘Diamond’ Certification… ‘Butter’ Achieves 500 Million Streams

BTS has proven its unwavering global popularity.

On the 25th, the Japan Record Association announced the streaming certification works (June). BTS earned the 'Diamond' certification with their hit song 'Butter,' surpassing 500 million cumulative streams.

The Japan Record Association awards certifications every month based on the cumulative streams of songs. The categories are Gold (over 50 million streams), Platinum (over 100 million streams), and Diamond (over 500 million streams).

With this, BTS has earned their second 'Diamond' certification following 'Dynamite,' proving their continued massive popularity in Japan.

Additionally, BTS also made it into the 'Gold' certification works in the streaming section. The tracks 'Blue & Grey' (2020.11), 'Run BTS' (2022.06), and Jungkook's '3D' (2023.09) are the featured tracks.

Jimin stood out on the Japanese Oricon charts. In the latest chart (dated July 29), he ranked in the 'Weekly Digital Album Ranking' (1st), 'Weekly Album Ranking' (3rd), and 'Weekly Combined Album Ranking' (3rd) with his solo second album 'MUSE.'

Meanwhile, 'Butter' surged to No. 1 on the Billboard Main Song Chart 'Hot 100' on June 5, 2021, and maintained the top spot for seven consecutive weeks. It was recorded as the song that stayed at No. 1 the most on the 'Hot 100' in 2021.
