Brothers: One Killed Their Father, the Other Committed a Random Murder… Shocking Murderous Siblings

Shocking Brother Murder Crime: The Tragedy of Filial Homicide and Random Killings

An 80-year-old father begged his son to take him to the hospital, but instead of reporting it, the elder son violently cursed at him and killed him. Shockingly, it has also been revealed that his younger brother is currently serving time for murder.

In October of last year, the elder son, Mr. A, ruthlessly assaulted his father with a massage stick.

Mr. A ignored his father's request to go to the bathroom and repeatedly struck him with his hands, knees, and legs, stabbing various parts of his body with a broken knife and a screwdriver. He even committed the inhumane abuse of making his father relieve himself on the spot.

To his bleeding father, he shouted, "If it really hurts, call 119," and "It's nothing," displaying verbal abuse. Ultimately, the father called 119 himself, but he died during transport to the hospital due to multiple injuries to his head and face.

A week of brutal abuse, heavy sentencing by the court

According to a report by News1 on the 10th, on the 22nd of last month, the Seoul Southern District Court Criminal Division 11 (Chief Judge Jang Chan) sentenced Mr. Kim to 30 years in prison for the charge of filial homicide. Some parts of this shocking act were recorded on camera.

The court emphasized that "the video recording shows the defendant committing unthinkable profanity while assaulting the victim for an extended period, representing a criminal act of a monstrous nature." They added, "Facing just a hint of the pain, fear, humiliation, shame, and helplessness that the victim felt is enough to suffocate and leave one in sheer horror."

Even more shocking is that during Mr. A's trial, it was revealed that his biological younger brother is also serving time for murder.

This is an extremely rare case where siblings from the same family both committed murder, raising social shockwaves.

The younger brother's random killing, the shadow of mental illness and family conflict

The younger brother, Mr. B, discovered a man in his 60s he had never seen before in an alley in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and followed him for 10 minutes before attacking him with a weapon. In a span of just about five minutes, he attacked the victim approximately 280 times, leading to the victim's death at the scene.

Investigations revealed that Mr. A had been diagnosed with a mental illness about 20 years ago but refused treatment, leading to worsening symptoms of paranoia and hallucinations.

In 2022, the Seoul Southern District Court Criminal Division 14 (Chief Judge Kim Dong-hyun) sentenced Mr. A to 15 years in prison.

Mr. A utilized his younger brother Mr. B's mental health issues to justify his own crime.

Mr. A claimed that their father had tortured Mr. B by forcing him to eat, which led to his mental illness. However, Mr. B mentioned conflicts with his brother instead.

The court expressed, "We cannot even begin to fathom the feelings of the victim who was assaulted and abused by the defendant, their loving child, and was ultimately killed," expressing sympathy, and stated, "It is reasonable to isolate the defendant from society for an extended period to make him reflect on his wrongdoing."
