'Broadcast Activity Suspension' Baek Jong-won: When Asked About His Return, "I Have No Desire for Broadcast"
Baek Jong-won, CEO of The Born Korea, who announced the suspension of his broadcasting activities, has expressed his stance when asked about his return to broadcasting.
On the 7th, Yonhap News reported that Baek replied, "If the stock price recovers significantly, it could be considered."
According to the report, Baek emphasized, "I have no desire for broadcasting" and added, "Right now, I'm really not thinking about broadcasting. I need to see the situation. I'm not originally a broadcaster."

He continued, "When the company gets back on track and it’s clear to anyone that The Born has a bright future, and when I feel the urge to grow, then I may consider a return to broadcasting."
Baek revealed that he is preparing additional support funds beyond the 5 billion won allocated for measures to support store owners, such as a three-month exemption from royalties and discounts on ingredients.
He stated, "There will be some impact on store owners because of the recent issues, and a small amount won't be enough. I made a big decision to ensure that store owners can endure well."
He further stated, "Since I've suspended broadcasting and other activities, ultimately what I need to do is meet with store owners and reorganize the brand," adding, "After that, I plan to diligently sell sauces overseas since the overseas market is good."

Meanwhile, Baek Jong-won has faced a series of controversies from January this year, including the controversy over the pork content in 'Baek Ham,' the citrus content in citrus beer, mislabeling of the origin of his products, the blacklist controversy involving employees of Saemaul Restaurant, and suspicions of pesticide spraying and violations of agricultural land laws.
On the 6th, in response to these controversies, Baek declared, "As Baek Jong-won, a businessman and not a broadcaster, I will fully focus all my passion and effort on the growth of The Born Korea."
