Israel-Iran "12-Day War" Ceasefire Declaration
On the 23rd, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a "complete and total ceasefire" agreement between Israel and Iran. This response was in light of Iran's limited retaliation for the U.S. military's bombing of nuclear facilities two days prior, to which President Trump expressed "condolences." The international community's attention is focused on whether this ceasefire agreement can serve as a turning point for easing tensions and establishing peace in the Middle East.
President Trump revealed specific timelines through his social media platform, Truth Social, stating, "This ceasefire will commence 6 hours after Israel and Iran complete their ongoing final missions. Iran will begin the ceasefire first, followed by Israel 12 hours later."

Official End of the "12-Day War" and Outlook for Peace
President Trump termed the military conflict between Israel and Iran that began on the 12th as the "12-Day War," predicting, "In 24 hours, the world will celebrate the official end of the '12-Day War'." He also emphasized that "both parties must maintain a respectful attitude during the ceasefire period" and added congratulatory remarks on "the perseverance, courage, and wisdom shown in bringing this war to an end under the assumption that everything goes according to plan."
President Trump stressed, "This war could have lasted for years and could have destroyed the entire Middle East. It did not happen, and it will never happen."
On the same day, Iran launched 14 ballistic missiles at the Al Udeid Air Force Base in Qatar; however, most of the missiles were intercepted due to prior notification to the U.S. side, resulting in no casualties.
Just prior to this, President Trump warned of stronger military responses in case of Iranian retaliatory attacks but noted, "Iran reacted very weakly, just as we expected," and stated, "We can now move toward peace and will encourage Israel to do the same." With this ceasefire agreement, the likelihood of easing tensions in the Middle East and the stabilization of the international situation has significantly increased.
