The movie 'F1: The Movie' (directed by Joseph Kosinski) has signaled a hot box office start. According to the integrated ticket sales network of the Korean Film Council, 'F1: The Movie' surpassed a reservation rate of 37.2% as of 4 PM on the 25th, with over 91,163 pre-booked tickets.

It has been overwhelmingly number one since its opening day. The film 'Noise,' which also premiered on the same day, ranks second with an 8.6% reservation rate. Following that, 'How to Train Your Dragon' and 'Elio' have reservation rates of 8.2% and 4.2%, respectively.

'F1: The Movie' is an action drama that depicts the story of a washed-up Formula 1 driver, Sonny (played by Brad Pitt), who joins the lowest-ranked team alongside a brilliant newcomer, Joshua (played by Damson Idris).

Joseph Kosinski took the helm as director. He previously attracted 8.23 million viewers in Korea with his last film, 'Top Gun: Maverick' (2022), achieving long-lasting box office success.

This time, he challenged himself with an action film set on the ground rather than in the air. He captured the essence of the successful strategies from 'Top Gun: Maverick.' The film showcases high-speed race scenes and a realistic depiction of F1 competitions.

Brad Pitt stars in the lead role, having personally driven at speeds exceeding 300 km/h on actual circuits, maximizing the vibrancy and realism of the racing action.
