Singer BoA is set to evoke the emotions of a breakup.

SM Entertainment released a concept teaser image for BoA’s self-composed song “Emptiness” on the 19th, hinting at the atmosphere of the new music. The image conjures a poignant yet bitter mood.

In the photo, BoA appears to be dealing with a breakup. A two-shot with the male protagonist is captured. BoA leans on him, yet her gaze is empty. Though they share the same space, it seems they harbor different thoughts.

“Emptiness” is a pop genre song based on Afrobeat. It conveys a calm yet resolute message of breakup between love and betrayal. The lyrics encapsulate a journey of healing one’s wounded heart.

BoA participated in composing, writing, and arranging the song. She has previously presented her own compositions in her 7th regular album “Only One”, 8th album “Kiss My Lips”, and the title track “Forgive Me” of her third mini-album.

BoA’s new song “Emptiness” will be released on various music sites at 6 PM on the 26th.
