A stabbing incident occurred at a high school in Cheongju, South Korea.
A special needs student at a high school in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, carried out a stabbing spree, shocking the public with the revelation that the student brought four knives to school in his backpack.
On the 28th, the Cheongju Heungdeok Police Station arrested the student, identified as A (18), on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently investigating the case.

At around 8:36 AM that day, A is accused of wielding a knife against school staff and passersby at his high school in Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju.
As a result of the incident, three staff members, including the principal, an environmental worker, and an administrative staff member, were seriously injured and transported to the hospital; fortunately, their lives are not in danger.
One other staff member also received minor injuries and is receiving treatment.

Incident details and arrest of the suspect
After A was disarmed by the staff, he fled the scene and jumped into a nearby lake, but was rescued by the fire department.
During his escape, two passersby who collided with A also sustained injuries.
Police apprehended A at around 8:48 AM, approximately 10 minutes after the incident, and transported him to the hospital.

According to police, A, who has been suffering from anger management issues, allegedly swung a utility knife while talking to the principal in the school’s first-floor corridor.
It is reported that A had grievances against the school related to issues concerning interpersonal relationships.
In addition to the knives used in the attack, three other types of weapons, including a hammer and a kitchen knife, were found in his backpack.
Police are currently investigating A to determine the exact motive for the crime and circumstances surrounding the incident. This incident raises serious concerns about school safety and the special education environment.
