Recently, claims have emerged on online communities and social media that the Daebon Food Service Development Institute, operated by Daebon Korea, has violated the National Technical Qualification Act.

This institution is accused of issuing a national qualification certificate under the title "Pastry Craftsman," despite being a private organization.

National technical qualifications are certifications issued only to individuals who have passed exams designated by the Minister of Employment and Labor.

It is legally prohibited for private organizations to arbitrarily issue such qualifications or use their titles.

However, the certificates received by graduates of the Daebon Food Service Development Institute bear the name "Baek Jong-won" along with the title "Pastry Craftsman," which has raised concerns.

The individual who filed the complaint stated, "The act of the Daebon Food Service Development Institute improperly using the title 'Craftsman' to issue certificates is a violation of Article 17 of the National Technical Qualification Act," and requested legal penalties.

He emphasized, "It is strictly prohibited for private educational institutions to arbitrarily issue qualifications, and this constitutes an illegal act."

He also added, "I hope the violation is promptly confirmed, and immediate punitive measures will be taken in accordance with the law upon verification of the facts."

Additionally, he demanded that the legal validity of the qualification be immediately nullified and corrective actions be taken for the candidates holding the certificates.

Those who use the titles corresponding to national technical qualifications can face imprisonment or fines.

Meanwhile, Daebon Korea has been involved in various controversies, ranging from the price controversy over the "Backham Gift Set" to violations of the Agricultural Land Act concerning Baekseok Doenjang, allegations of employee blacklisting, and inappropriate interview practices, prompting Baek Jong-won to issue two apology statements and bow his head during the regular shareholders' meeting.
