"The storyline with which this is achieved is nothing short of brilliant." – Collider

"'Karma' delivers much of its suspense through a nonlinear narrative." – Time

The Netflix series 'Karma' (written and directed by Lee Il-hyung) has received critical acclaim both domestically and internationally for its artistic quality. It topped the 'Top 10 in South Korea' series shortly after its release.

'Karma' was released on the 4th. It tells the story of six individuals intertwined by fate, capturing the disasters brought about by their choices.

'Karma' is a crime thriller featuring the journeys of Witness Man (played by Park Hae-soo), Leading Character (played by Shin Min-a), Loan Shark (played by Lee Hee-joon), Gil-ryong (played by Kim Sung-kyun), Glasses Man (played by Lee Kwang-soo), and Yoo-jung (played by Gong Seung-yeon) as they fall into the shackles of fate.

The solid storyline has also caught the attention of foreign media. The American outlet Time praised it as "a work that maximizes tension through its nonlinear narrative."

Collider remarked, "It realistically and brutally portrays the tragedies that greed brings," adding, "The storytelling is remarkably sophisticated, and the main plot unfolds intricately."

Each episode of 'Karma' presents a twist. The media noted, "With repeated twists, it reinterprets the events from new perspectives," commending the director for his meticulous approach to the complex narrative.

Particularly, the acting skills of the cast have been highly regarded. Collider reported, "Park Hae-soo's performance is so dynamic and lively that the Glasses Man describes him as a 'complete psychopath.'"

Fandom Wire stated, "Shin Min-a led the drama with her emotionally profound performance," and noted that she played a central role in conveying empathy throughout the story by embodying complex emotions.

However, there were some disappointing reactions regarding Leading Character's episode. Critics pointed out, "While it seemed she would be a main driving force of the narrative, she ultimately remains a secondary element," adding, "She exits abruptly just as her character begins to take root."

In contrast, Time viewed Leading Character as the only character who overcomes trauma. "Leading Character is depicted as the sole individual who recovers from life amidst the whirlpool of violence and greed, choosing forgiveness and healing over revenge," explained the outlet.

Fandom Wire praised, "With a constantly changing plot, it continuously offers viewers mystery and suspense until the end," calling it "one of the most satisfying works of 2025."
