“Assaulting Ex-Wife After Release? Unpaid Child Support? Not True”… Hwang Cheol-soon Announces Legal Action

Hwang Cheol-soon, who has been accused of assault during his divorce proceedings, has officially stated his position through his legal representative.

On the 24th, Hwang Cheol-soon’s legal representative, Lee Don-ho from Nova Law Firm, denied all claims made by his wife, identified as A.

Lee stated, "We are addressing the recent malicious dissemination of false information by A's side," and emphasized, "The allegations regarding 'assault after release' raised by A are baseless false claims."

Hwang Cheol-soon’s side also refuted the claim regarding unpaid child support.

The legal representative explained that Hwang has been depositing approximately 6 to 7 million won monthly into an account under his child’s name out of moral responsibility and affection for his child.

Nevertheless, they argued, “A maliciously registered Hwang Cheol-soon with Bad Fathers, distorting the narrative to suggest that he has not fulfilled his parenting responsibilities.”

**Allegations of Unauthorized Name Change and Legal Response**

Particularly, Hwang's side claimed that A utilized Hwang's imprisonment to engage in illegal activities.

Lee pointed out, "An even more serious issue is that, taking advantage of Hwang Cheol-soon’s imprisonment, A unilaterally changed the names of the children without the consent of Hwang, who is a co-parent."

He continued, “This clearly occurred without the consent of the other custodial parent and constitutes an improper exercise of parental rights, which is absolutely unacceptable," emphasizing that they will respond strictly by utilizing all legal means.

**Hwang Cheol-soon's Sentence for Assaulting Former Partner B**

Known for his role as a judge on 'Comedy Big League,' Hwang Cheol-soon was sentenced to nine months in prison for assaulting his then-girlfriend B in a building in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do, in 2023, and was released on parole around January 2025.

After his release in March, Hwang posted on his social media, "My assets have disappeared, my debts have increased in my name, and I am only being taken to drinking parties or events instead of being visited," criticizing his wife A. Additionally, on the 14th, he expressed his frustrations about being sued by A for assault, claiming, "I didn't even go near her, yet she filed a report for assault."

In contrast, A's side rebutted that Hwang has not corrected his violent tendencies and has continuously assaulted, leading to the lawsuit for assault during the divorce proceedings.
