'Oh My Girl' member and actress Arin is set to bring refreshing energy to the living room.
KBS-2TV's new Wednesday-Thursday drama "My Girlfriend is a Man" (written by Lee Haena, directed by Yoo Gwan-mo) will premiere on the 23rd. On the 7th, stills from Arin's job interview scene were released.
"My Girlfriend is a Man" is based on a webtoon of the same name. It tells the story of Kim Ji-eun (played by Arin), who suddenly becomes a flower boy overnight, and Park Yoon-jae (played by Yoon San-ha), who has a crush on his girlfriend.
Ji-eun, played by Arin, is a student at the Department of Korean Language and Literature at Yeonsei University. She possesses extraordinary cheerfulness, loveliness, and positive energy. While blossoming into a youthful romance with Yoon-jae, she faces the crisis of suddenly transforming into a man.
The stills capture Ji-eun's first scene. At the internship interview, she showcased a polished look in a neat suit and a tidy ponytail, exemplifying interview fashion. Ji-eun displayed a confident demeanor with bright eyes in front of the interviewers.
Even amid the sudden challenge of changing genders, her love for Yoon-jae remains genuine. Through her role as Ji-eun, Arin aims to awaken the viewers' feelings of excitement.
Arin expressed, "I was deeply attracted to the unique setting and the character of Ji-eun," and added, "I hope this project can provide refreshing energy and joy during the hot summer."
She continued, "Ji-eun finds herself in unexpected situations, but she strives to protect her love with all her heart. She possesses a lovable and bright energy. I hope viewers receive a lot of good energy as well."
Finally, she shared her aspirations, stating, "I hope the feeling of pleasant excitement can be conveyed to viewers through the drama," and "I will continue to work hard to show even better performances in the future."
The production team commented, "Arin is a warm actress who deeply understands and empathizes with the inner self of her character. Please pay attention to Arin's impressive performances that will leave a significant 'Arin impact' in this drama."
Meanwhile, "My Girlfriend is a Man" is the follow-up to "The Male Lead's First Night." It will air for the first time at 9:50 PM on the 23rd.
