7-Year-Old Girl Ultimately Dies… Both Sisters Victims of the Blaze

According to the Busan Jin Police Station, on the morning of the 25th, the 7-year-old girl, who had been receiving treatment for serious injuries sustained in a fire that broke out on the 24th in an apartment on the 4th floor in Gaegum-dong, Busanjin-gu, passed away in the hospital. Previously, her 10-year-old sister had been found deceased on the day of the fire.

The police and the family plan to proceed with funeral arrangements without an autopsy for the 7-year-old victim. The earlier autopsy conducted on the 10-year-old sister confirmed initial findings of "asphyxiation due to carbon monoxide poisoning."

Electrical Factors Likely Cause of the Fire… Ignition Believed to Have Started Near an Outlet

The fire is currently presumed to have been caused by electrical factors. The police stated that, based on a joint investigation with the National Forensic Service and firefighting authorities, the fire appears to have started near an outlet where a computer power cord was connected in the living room.

The fire began in the living room and spread rapidly to the master bedroom and kitchen, with the sisters found to have been sleeping in the master bedroom at the time. The parents were out early for a cleaning job, leaving the house unoccupied.
