'And Team' member Uiju is taking on acting challenges. He has been cast as the lead in a Japanese drama.
Uiju will appear in the Nihon TV network CTV Wednesday drama 'I Want to Catch a Sea Bass' (海老だって鯛が釣りたい), which will have its first broadcast next month. This will be his first attempt at serious acting.
'I Want to Catch a Sea Bass' is a romantic comedy. It tells the story of an ordinary company employee woman who experiences relationships and breakups with four men. The narrative explores the journey to find true love.
He will play the role of Park Jong-soo, a young man from Korea who dreams of becoming an actor. The agency expressed their hope that audiences will discover a different charm from Uiju on stage.
Uiju shared his thoughts, saying, "I am very happy and excited," and added, "The character Jong-soo I portray is pure and consistent. I will do my best to express his charm well."
Meanwhile, the And Team, to which Uiju belongs, is currently on an Asian tour. They will perform in Hyogo on the 5th and 6th of next month, in Hong Kong on the 26th, and will conclude their series of performances in Saitama on October 25-26.
